Tumba de Rafael Landívar
Monument to the great colonial poet Rafael Landivar. Born in Santiago on October 27th, 1731 and died in Bologna, Italy in 1793. He studied at the College of San Francisco de Borja, the Royal and Pontifical University of San Carlos, and in 1755 was ordained a Jesuit priest in Mexico. In 1767 King Carlos III, expelled from his domains to the Jesuits, so Landivar moved to Bologna, where he writes the most important of his works: Rusticatio Mexicana, literary work of great beauty dedicated to his hometown.
